The trouble with used servers is that you usually need to buy new OS licenses and have the systems recertified. Sometimes it works out to be an ok deal, but it can be a PITA. Our IBM rep busts our chops whenever we bring in refurb memory or parts but we give him too much business for him to get too uppity about it.
We've had some luck buying server upgrades from the following secondary IBM resellers:
We've had bad experiences with a couple others too, but they'll remain nameless.
